Wei Jiang

Wei Jiang (IEEE Senior Member) is a Professor at the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Nanjing University. His research focuses on silicon photonics, photonic crystals, nanophotonics, and their applications in optical interconnects, optical communications, LIDAR, and optical computing. He also serves as Associate Director of the Precision Photonics Integration & System Application Research Center of the Ministry of Education of China. He has demonstrated the first high‑speed photonic crystal modulator on silicon and pioneered half‑wavelength pitch waveguide integration for optical phased arrays.

Sukhdev Roy

Sukhdev Roy

Professor Sukhdev Roy received his Ph.D. from IIT Delhi in 1993 and currently serves as Head of the Department of Physics and Computer Science at Dayalbagh Educational Institute, Agra, India. He has received the JSPS Invitation Fellowship (Japan, 2004), the Systems Society of India’s National Systems Gold Medal (2016), and the prestigious Fulbright-Nehru International Education Administrators Award (2025–2026).He has authored 180 research papers, 11 book chapters, and holds six UK patents. He was Guest Editor of the IET Circuits, Devices and Systems Journal Special Issue on Optical Computing (March 2011) and is an Associate Editor of IEEE Access.He is a Fellow of SPIE, Optica, the Indian National Academy of Engineering, the National Academy of Sciences (India), IETE (India), and a Distinguished Fellow of the Optical Society of India. He has been listed in Stanford’s Top 2% World Ranking of Scientists in Optoelectronics and Photonics for the years 2020–2025.

Lianshan Yan received B.E. and Ph.D. degree from Zhejiang University and the University of Southern California (USC), respectively. He is currently the director of the Key Laboratory of Photonic-Electronic Integration and Communication-Sensing Convergence (Ministry of Education) and the director of Center for Information Photonics & Communications (CIPC) at Southwest Jiaotong University, China. Prof. Yan is a Fellow of Optica (formerly OSA). He is the co-Editor-in-Chief of Light: Advanced Manufacturing (2020-). He received the IEEE Photonics Society Distinguished Lecturer Award (2011-2013) and IEEE LEOS Graduate Fellowship (2002). He is also the winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars of China and the Chair Professor of Cheung Kong Scholars Program. He was the Chair of Optical Fiber Technology Technical Group of OSA (2015-2018) and an associate editor of IEEE Photonics Journal (2009-2015).

Hongyan Fu

Dr. Hongyan FU is currently a tenured-associate professor and director of Nano-fabrication Platform, Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (SIGS), Tsinghua University, Shenzhen, China. He is an Optica Fellow elected in 2026. His research focuses on integrated photonics and its related applications in communications and sensing, including optical wireless communication and LiDAR. Dr. Fu served as the project manager of the AllOptical Networks (AON) project at Huawei Central Research Institute. This initiative later evolved into a companywide flagship research project covering nextgeneration optical communication technologies to underpin Huawei’s technological leadership.He is a senior member of IEEE and life member of SPIE. He serves as the associate editor of Frontiers in Photonics and reviewers for Nature, Science, etc. He has authored/coauthored over 400 journal or conference papers including on Nature, Nature Communications, etc. He has been selected on the World’s Top 2% Scientists List released by Stanford University since 2023, for both single year and career-long scientific impact ranking.

Salah S. A. Obayya

Salah S. A. Obayya

Prof. Salah S. A. Obayya is a Chair Professor at Zewail City of Science and Technology, Egypt, where he serves as Director-General of Research Institutes and Founding Director of the Center for Photonics and Smart Materials. He is a Fellow of IEEE, OPTICA, SPIE, IET, IOP, AAS, and APS. His research focuses on green nanophotonics and intelligent computational modeling of modern nanophotonic devices. He has published 248 journal papers, 3 books, and 254 conference papers, and supervised 35 PhD students. He received the African Union Kwame Nkrumah Continental Award for Scientific Excellence (2021) and holds the UNESCO Chair for Sustainable Development in Africa (2019).

Xuewen Shu

Xuewen Shu (Optica Fellow, IOP Fellow) is a Professor and PhD Supervisor at the Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). He received his Ph.D. degree from HUST. He worked as Senior Research Fellow at Aston University, UK from 2003 to 2013. His research focuses on fiber photonic devices, laser microfabrication, fiber gratings, optical sensing and laser technologies. He has published more than 300 peer-reviewed papers in high-impact journals including Nature Photonics, Optica, Laser & Photonics Reviews, and delivered numerous invited talks at top international conferences such as CLEO, OFC and ECOC. He serves on editorial boards of several international journals.

Yan Zhang

Prof. Yan Zhang is a Full Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the Department of Physics, Capital Normal University. He serves as the Director of the Key Laboratory of Terahertz Optoelectronics (Ministry of Education) and Beijing Key Laboratory of Metamaterials and Devices, and is a Fellow of Optica (formerly OSA).  His research focuses on terahertz spectroscopy & imaging, terahertz metasurface devices, and optical information processing. He has published over 400 peerreviewed papers in journals such as Nature Photonics, Nature Communications and Physical Review Letters, with an Hindex of 64 and over 14,000 Google Scholar citations. His research group has received several national innovation awards for industryuniversityresearch collaboration.

Jinfeng Zhu

Prof. Jinfeng Zhu, PhD supervisor, Director of the Institute of Electromagnetics and Acoustics, Xiamen University. He is IEEE Senior Member, Optica Senior Member and Fellow of the International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM), recipient of Fujian Outstanding Youth Fund. He serves as panel reviewer for National Key R&D Programs and has won multiple provincial and national awards. His research interests include micro-nano photonics, electromagnetic metadevices, terahertz technology, micro-nano optoelectronic biosensing chips, and RF integrated circuits. He has led multiple National Key R&D and NSFC projects. As corresponding author, he has published papers in Nature Photonics and Science Advances, with over 90 high-quality papers. He is Associate Editor of SCI journals and holds authorized invention patents.

Saeed Olyaee

Saeed Olyaee

Saeed Olyaee is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Shahid Rajaee Teacher Training University and the founder and head of the Nano-photonics and Optoelectronics Research Laboratory (NORLab), established in 2006. Olyaee has authored and co-authored more than 350 scientific publications, including 207 journal articles, 136 conference papers, and several books and book chapters. He has also led or contributed to approximately 50 university-level and national research projects.  He is a Senior Member of IEEE and has served on the editorial boards and scientific committees of several national and international journals and conferences. He has been listed among the world’s top 2% of scientists in the annual impact category for seven consecutive years (2019–2025). His research interests include laser nanometrology, optical instrumentation, photonic crystal fibers and sensors, THz materials and devices, and solar cells.
